Podcasts have grown greatly over the last few years, with over seven million people now listening to podcasts on a weekly basis. That is an increase of 24% from last year, highlighting the exponential growth of this form of media communication.
On average, consumers listen to around seven podcasts each week. Smart speaker sales and the increase of people working from home means podcasts are more popular than ever. Many organisations are taking advantage of this and embracing podcasts, reaching and engaging their target audiences in completely new ways.

We Built This City
Roland Dransfield launched the We Built This City podcast in March 2020 with a trio of episodes from Skullfades’ Ged King, Cold Feet’s John Thomson, and Olympic athlete Diane Modahl.
We harnessed the power of relationships to secure these guests for our show, spending years developing close bonds and working relationships with them.
Since the launch, we’ve welcomed a variety of exciting new guests, including Andy Burnham, Gary Neville, Sacha Lord, and Clint Boon.

It’s our aim to make the experience of starting your first podcast as easy, educational, and fun as possible. Here’s what will happen when you embark on your purposeful podcast journey.
We’ve made the process of getting you ready for podcasting as simple and as easy as possible. When you come on board, we will send you our podcast in a parcel.
Our parcel contains everything you need, and instructions to get you ready to record your own podcast. Including the below:
- 2 x Samson Q2U microphones
- 2 x microphone stands
- 2 x microphone pop shields
- 2 x Sony Headphones
- Zoom H1 recorder
- Zoom H6 Black audio mixer and recorder
- 64gb SD card
- Set-up instructions
- List of software and instructions on how to download
Additional costs will be generated should we decide to rent out a recording studio at any point during our 12 episodes.

We’ve created two options for you to launch your own podcast. They aim to give you the flexibility to decide what best suits you and your business needs.
Done for you
In this option, the Roland Dransfield team will take care of everything to produce the podcasts. Your team will not be upskilled as part of this process.

- Audio Imaging Kit (intro / outro / sweeper design)
- Host & Platform setup (Monthly cost of £10 – after the 12 episodes we will hand that cost back or help you with your own subscription)

Done with you
This option aims to upskill members of your team in a “learn by doing” environment. The RD team will be on hand every step of the way to offer guidance, training, and support so by the end of episode 12 your team will be confident to produce the next series. It includes:

- Content Format Creation and Guide
