Project Description
The Brief
Roland Dransfield was appointed by Manchester City Council to deliver the launch of 2022: Our Year, a legacy project which will see 2022 dedicated to children and young people with the aim of Manchester becoming a UNICEF child-friendly city by 2024.
The campaign saw the creation of a new ‘Legacy Fund’ as well as a programme of events for young people in the city.
We were tasked with organising a launch for Manchester’s biggest businesses, sourcing a number of high-profile ambassadors, facilitating introductions to businesses to sponsor 2022: Our Year as well as implementing a dedicated communications and media campaign to raise the profile of the campaign.
Campaign Delivery
Roland Dransfield worked closely with Manchester City Council organising a business launch attended by over 75 people including Joanne Roney OBE and Leader of Manchester City Council, Bev Craig. Media partnerships were also formed with The Business Desk, Hits Radio and The Manc which supported the wider media strategy. We also worked closely with over 25 high-profile ambassadors from different sectors across Manchester working on relationship management and profile raising.
A selection of corporate partnerships was also facilitated with introductions made to key businesses across the city.
Roland Dransfield will continue working on this project throughout 2022.
