Training and development is top of the agenda for CRL as it appoints a new learning and development officer

Zoe NewmanSTRUCTURAL defects insurance specialist CRL has invested in the training and development of its staff with the appointment of a new learning and development officer.

Zoe Newman has joined CRL to provide a robust learning development strategy for the company’s workforce – supporting CRL’s growth plans.

The 32-year-old brings a wealth of expertise to the recently created role having spent 11 years working in various positions in call centres, construction and insurance.

Zoe joined CRL in July from British Gas sister company Home Assistance UK Ltd. where she spent three and a half years as Learning and Development Manager.

Zoe, who lives and works in Horsham, said: “In joining CRL I’m able to combine my previous work experience in construction, insurance and people management. I’ll be working to explore and identify the learning needs of the business to get a holistic view of the training and development priorities in the CRL way.

“CRL investing in a learning development programme with its staff is at the very heart of what CRL is about. We are venturous in spirit, innovative and we challenge industry norms and learning development is central to this.

“CRL hire a strong calibre of staff and it’s my mission to support each individual’s personal development and career progression through a comprehensive training and development programme.”

Zoe began her career as a customer service advisor for BCP where she worked for eight years. In this time she progressed quickly gaining invaluable experience in sales, customer relations, complaints handling, team leading and management.

She has naturally gravitated towards a successful career in learning and development. Motivated by leading a team and committed to supporting each team member’s personal development, Zoe then spent two years at Connaught Plc. Here she gained relevant experience in the construction industry.

The mother-of-one and keen carp angler, added: “My main priority is to identify both the business and individual’s needs and to translate these into training solutions to help CRL achieve its business objectives.”

Commenting on the qualified CIPD training and NLP practitioner’s appointment, CRL’s CEO Steve Mansour said: “Zoe has exceptional people management and business transformation skills.

“Zoe has spent her entire professional life in learning and development across the insurance and construction sectors demonstrating a strong skillset that CRL can invest in.

“We’re delighted to welcome Zoe on board as we enter the next phase of our ambitious growth plans with an increasing focus on the learning and development of not only our staff, but also our clients. She will be taking an active approach to CRL’s learning and development procedures which go hand in hand with the launch of our CPD programme.”

Newly CPD accredited CRL will be delivering a series of workshops and training sessions for the construction industry from the end of this month.

Topics include: refurbishment and conversion training, approved inspectors warranty inspection training and sessions on how builders and developers can use social media to generate business.
